Remember that place – the last place where you felt completely connected. To it. To yourself. To your loved ones. To our great big world.
That place where you felt enveloped by nature. A sense of grounding. Of finding a home and a purpose within it.
The place might be across the world or across town. Surrounded by lush forest or a vast open desert, these places inspire and ignite within us a feeling of peace, clarity and ease that lives within us always – just waiting to be tapped. Quite simply, we must slow down a bit to notice.
I created Taproot Retreats to support our collective journey. As builders, creatives, entrepreneurs, teachers, wanderers and leaders; as people striving to make the most of life. Taproot was also built to connect you: to local protected lands; to a community of passionate, adventurous, and deeply driven people; and to your truest self.
Taproot Retreats blends yoga, meditation and outdoor excursions to deliver experiences that rejuvenate and inspire.
Whether it’s an afternoon hike and meditation, or a full day of kayaking, intention setting and solo journaling, whether you come alone or with your team, our excursions are designed to help you connect to what matters most: your true nature, your greatest potential.
I hope you can join us in one of Raleigh-Durham’s best kept natural hideaways, along the Coast of North Carolina or in some far away land. Wherever it may be, we think you’ll find more than a simple trail and a yoga mat waiting for you.
Namaste,
Lindsay

“Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts. There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature—the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after winter.”

About OUR FOUNDER
Lindsay’s life always has been centered around adventure. A graduate of both Outward Bound (NWOBS Instructor Development Course 2017) and NOLS (Yukon Territory 2004) Lindsay believes that the path to growth requires you to get out of your comfort zone.
It’s that spirit that led her to cycle across the United States twice, run 14 half marathons and summit mountains in four continents, all while pursuing a Master’s in Public Health and climbing the rungs as a healthcare communications and marketing professional.
It’s also what led her to 200-hour yoga teacher training with Hot Asana Yoga University, where she learned that stillness is more challenging – more audacious and profoundly impactful – than running, biking, hiking or climbing the corporate ladder.
In 2018, Lindsay founded Taproot Retreats in Durham, N.C., to bring people, places and purpose together in a way that inspires, heals and uplifts.
